Everything you need to know about the match date and African Cup final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast

The national team of Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire) and Nigeria will meet in the final of the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations the day after tomorrow, on Sunday, at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in the Epembe suburb of Abidjan.

The final match will take place on Sunday, February 11 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in the Ivorian capital Abidjan. The opening whistle will sound at 23:00 Mecca time.

Nigeria played out extra time and then penalty kicks against South Africa on Wednesday to book their place in the final, while Ivory Coast won 1-0 over Democratic Republic of Congo in regular time.

Ivory Coast can make an amazing comeback and bring a successful end to a happy edition of the African Cup of Nations if it is able to overcome the “Eagles” and win the title on their home soil on Sunday.

The team managed to reach the group stage with difficulty, overcoming their losses in the Round of 16 and Round of 8 in dramatic fashion, and are now hoping to complete one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the tournament.

Nigeria, on the other hand, is looking for the fourth title in its history, knowing that it had previously won the cup three times, the last of which was in 2013.

The Ivory Coast team became the first host of the tournament to reach the final since Egypt's victory in 2006, and are chasing a third title at the African Cup of Nations after victories in 1992 and 2015.

Historic confrontation between two elected officials

According to the Opta website, Nigeria and Ivory Coast face each other for the eighth time in the African Cup of Nations (3 wins for Nigeria, two wins and two draws for Ivory Coast).
