Military expert Major General Faiz al-Duwairi said the withdrawal of more Israeli forces is normal and in line with the decline in the pace of the operation, noting that violent fighting is currently limited to the city of Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip.
On Thursday, Israel announced the withdrawal of the 8410th Artillery Division from the Gaza Strip, joining several other divisions and units that had been withdrawn.
Al-Duwairi reported that fighting is taking place in the northern region, but it is in specific areas, not the entire north, because according to al-Duwairi, operations in the extreme zone are limited to sniping.
In the south, the army was reduced from 8 to 5 brigades after Operation Khan Yunis was confined to the center of the city, according to a military expert.
He further said, “There is a difference between a maneuver unit and a support unit because maneuver forces are those that are directly involved in combat and include infantry, armored vehicles and commandos, whereas support units only provide support.”
Currently, al-Duwairi says, there are four brigades around Khan Yunis and a fifth brigade in the fence area, all of which are trying to reach the heart of the city, according to al-Duwairi, who said the resistance is still successful. Is to manage the battle despite the concentration of Israeli forces.
