WATCH..Nigeria beats Angola to qualify for African Cup of Nations semi-finals

Ademola Lookman scored in the first half to give Nigeria a 1-0 win over Angola and qualify for the African Cup of Nations semi-finals on Friday.

The only goal of the match came in the 41st minute when Moses Simon started down the left and then sent a low cross pass to Lookman, who fired a powerful shot into the roof of Angola's goal from inside the penalty area.

The Angola national team threatened Nigeria's goal with a close-range shot from Mabulolo just five minutes after the start, but it was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili before the referee ruled for an offside violation.

Victor Osimhen thought he had doubled the lead for Nigeria with a powerful header, before the referee ruled out his goal for offside on the Napoli striker, who was celebrating jubilantly.

After this, Angola's players could not succeed in threatening Nigeria's goal and the match ended with the victory of the last three-time champion continent.

The Super Eagles will play the winners of the matches against Cape Verde and South Africa about a week later.
