A U.S. military base in Iraq was attacked by unknown persons, with U.S. forces stationed there responding to the attack, with “minor injuries” to their personnel, a U.S. military official said.
“US forces responded, in self-defense, against those who carried out the attack,” the official told international media about the attack on the US base in Iraq, requesting anonymity.
According to this source, the attack took place in the early hours of the morning at the Ain al-Assad Air Base, west of Baghdad, in the Abu Ghraib sector.
The official did not specify how many were injured, but said material damage was caused to the base’s infrastructure.
According to the Tammuz Intel account, the organization Islamic Resistance claimed responsibility for the attack on Ain al-Assad Air Base.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq released a footage of the missile attack on Ain Alasad Airbase as a retaliation for the USAF airstrikes.
