Doctors Without Borders denounces the bombing of a hospital in Gaza and the death of 3 of its members

Doctors Without Borders is “horrified” by the bombing of the Al Awda hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip, which killed two of its doctors and a doctor who worked with them and belonged to the Health Ministry of Hamas.

The 3rd and 4th floors of Al Awda Hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip were hit by shelling, according to MSF, which killed the doctors Mahmoud Abu Nujaila, Ahmed Al Sahar and Ziad Al-Tatari.

The same strike wounded dozens of medical staff at the hospital in northern Gaza, including MSF staff, MSF said in the same statement.

More than 200 patients are still in Al Awda Hospital and must be urgently transferred to other hospitals in Gaza that are still functioning, MSF said.

The Palestinian Red Crescent spoke of 4 dead in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) about the bombing of the Al Awda hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip.

“We condemn in the strongest terms this attack and once again ask for respect and protection of medical facilities, staff and patients,” MSF said in their statement.

“Attacks on medical facilities are a serious violation of international humanitarian law,” adds Doctors Without Borders, referring to “systematic attacks” in recent weeks.

β€œThis is yet another blow against MSF staff in recent days. Our colleagues, who are helping hundreds of patients in Gaza, face extremely difficult conditions to provide the minimum medical care they can. Seeing doctors killed by their hospital beds is beyond tragic and this must stop now,” concludes MSF.
