The Serbian President, Aleksandër Vucic, said from the UN assembly in New York, that Serbia does not recognize independent Kosovo, while adding that he is waiting for the European representatives to give him “lectures about not imposing sanctions on Russia”.
“First they will lecture me for 7-8 minutes, then everyone else will lecture me. I will listen to them then I will tell them that I led Serbia as president and as long as this is so, then we will lead such a policy. We know how we have fared with sanctions. Why should we participate in such things”, said Vucic.
Vucic said that he listened to the US President, Joe Biden, and the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, in their speech at the UN Assembly.
“Biden in his speech mentioned territorial integrity, sovereignty and only in the third place human rights as the highest values of humanity. Several times he referred to the UN Charter and UN acts,” said Vucic, who added that in his speech he will mention the NATO bombing of the former Yugoslavia in 1999.
“Even now they don’t recognize the UN regulations, including resolution 1244. We who are small, better understand in time how small we are and that the big ones are allowed anything. I still haven’t realized how small we are, maybe with these sermons they will convince me, but I’m not sure. Everyone should not miss the opportunity to teach me a lesson about the morality of everything – as well as in what way to impose sanctions”, said Vucic.
He said that they do not “recognize independent Kosovo”.
Vucic said that in New York he had meetings with almost all European leaders. He said that they will have dinner with the presidents of the Western Balkans. He has also shown that he met with the president of the European Council, Charles Michel, as well as with the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“I talked with the Turkish president about regional issues during his visit to Serbia. I will also have a meeting with Miroslav Lajcak and all those who need to talk about the situation in Kosovo and M”, said Vučič.
