The activist Adriatik Lapaj, who yesterday presented the “Albania becomes” movement, spoke today on the show “Open” on News24 about the future of this movement, but also expressed his opinion when asked about the political figures in the country.
As for Prime Minister Edi Rama, Lapaj said that if the head of the government used his skills for good, he would leave a good mark in the history of Albania, while adding that if he does not take initiatives for the democratization of the country, he will be remembered as the one who wasted more.
“If he used the skills he has for good, he would leave a good mark in the history of Albania. It is difficult for someone to have had so many mandates and not have undertaken the reforms that Albania needed. If he does not take initiatives for the democratization of the country, he will be remembered as the one who wasted the most. For 5 people he used the skills, they were not used for good. Hundreds of thousands have left since 2013, this is not good”, he said about Rama.
Regarding the former Prime Minister Berisha, Lapaj stated that he has his good and bad in the political journey, but he should withdraw from the political scene and leave the country the opportunity for a new relay.
“There are pros and cons in the political journey. In my judgment, I appreciate his manly character due to the fact that I grew up in a family with these qualities, but I think he should have retired from the political scene and left the country the opportunity for a new relay”, he said.
As for Lulzim Basha, Lapaj said that the leader of the Democratic Party should have made strong decisions earlier, specifically about the opening of the race and the change of the electoral code, since according to him he had the opportunities.
“He should have made strong decisions earlier. Politics is done with people who should be there for merit, and not because so-and-so belongs to so-and-so. He had to make decisions about opening the race and changing the electoral code, he had the opportunities”, he said about Basha.
Lapaj also expressed his opinion regarding the figure of Ilir Meta, saying only that “a person must understand his time and understand that the system we live in is a relay of generations”.
“I think that a person in life should understand his own time and understand that the system we live in is a relay of generations and names. Even Enver Hoxha remained in power. I don’t believe they expect to reach Enver Hoxha’s record. One must understand one’s own time”, said Lapaj about the former President.
