The 48-year-old missing Greek woman from Neohori, Halkidiki, was found in Albania after seven months. The 48-year-old Greek Irini Papagelou, whose traces were lost at the beginning of March from Neohori of Halkidiki, is found in Albania.
According to information from the Greek media, a special request was submitted by her family after the disappearance through the lawyer, due to the numerous calls that her relatives received from Albanian phone numbers.
On Friday afternoon, the Albanian authorities announced that the 48-year-old Irini was found in Albania and a major operation was immediately launched to bring her to Greece. Late last night, Irini returned to the arms of her family.
The lawyer of the 48-year-old’s family, Anastasios Dougas, said that “we acted with extreme secrecy. We didn’t make public the basic elements and information we had and that’s how we reached the point today where Irini returned to her home”.
“Because I talked to Irina during the night, the only thing that is certain is that something happened to the girl and she disappeared. Everything will be clarified in the coming days. It is important that it is alive”, he added.
