Civil protection units were able to control 23 fires recorded across the state of Tizi Ouzou from Friday night to Saturday, according to a statement by the state directorate of this agency.
The statement indicated that “eight major fires” were recorded among this number in the northern highlands of the state, similar to the municipalities of Azfoun, Ait Chafia, Aghrib and Tigzirt.
Civil protection elements, with the support of various state departments and affected municipalities, in addition to the mobile convoy of the National Civil Protection Unit in Al-Hamiz, were able to control all the declared fires, according to the same statement.
The statement stressed that, despite this, “a monitoring device was installed at the level of the burned sites, especially the municipalities of Ait Chafa and Azfoun, with the aim of avoiding the outbreak of flames again.”
