The member of the DP National Council, Fitim Zekthi, invited to the News24 studio, spoke about the meeting of the DP National Assembly in the coming days.
Zekthi said that the DP Assembly will try to give shape to the structure of this party, by “embodying the serious values of a policy that loves the country”.
According to him, DP has not been a serious alternative for the citizens until now, while he added that there was no long-term vision or ideological axis.
As for the MPs Gazment Bardhi and himself, he said that the latter does not need an invitation to the DP Assembly as he is the Secretary of this political force and is invited by himself even though he has different views.
“The Assembly will try to shape the structure of this party so that for the first time we have a DP from A to Z, where the serious values of a policy that loves this country are embodied. Until now, DP has not been a serious alternative for citizens. DP has not tried for a long-term vision lately. It has been in crisis since 2009, when it became a party without an ideological axis, but based on the interests of power.
The party elite stayed put and became morally and ideologically corrupt. Basha has his responsibility without a doubt. He has been operating in the continuity of the DP journey since 1991. I think he should make some changes, but he has respected the atmosphere he found there.
I have appreciation for all the deputies, Bardhi, Tabaku, etc.
I have my view that what Bardhi has done is illogical, but that does not make him not a DP deputy. He is invited because today he is the Secretary of the Party, he does not need an invitation. He must defend his point of view and understand that he does not go forward with anger”, he said, among other things.
