The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Ataf, confirmed today, Tuesday in Algiers, that Algeria has no responsibility for freezing work within the framework of the Maghreb, which came after a request made by the Prime Minister, then Moroccan Foreign Minister Abdellatif Filali.
Ataf said in a press conference at the International Conference Center, “Abdel Latif Rahal,” that “the Moroccan work was frozen during my first term as foreign minister in 1995, as this came at a request in a written letter from the Prime Minister, the Moroccan Foreign Minister, Filali.”
In this context, he stressed that “Algeria has no responsibility for freezing Maghreb action,” stressing that “the circumstances have not changed, but their negative aspects have exacerbated, and today it is difficult to talk about reviving and restoring the spirit of the Maghreb Union.”
