It’s been almost 4 years since the release of Gears 5 and there are many who wish for another title. In a recent XboxEra podcast, insider Speshal Nick reports that its release Gears 6 it’s a bit far. In addition, he stated that there is a high possibility that the next title will be completely open-world, something that has not been done in the past of the series.
Gears 6 according to the insider could have a bigger environment as its development would also be helped by the transfer to Unreal Engine 6, which supports more open environments with more details.
The situation according to SpeshalNick is similar to another Microsoft franchise, Halo. The most recent title in the series, Halo Infinite, had an open-world campaign.
