The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, held a meeting with the structures of the State Police at the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing Point in Shkodër.
In his speech, Balla congratulated the blue uniforms for the work done for the smooth running of the tourist season and the influx that has occurred at both border points, Muriqan and Hani i Hoti, as well as underlined that the work should continue at the same pace.
“You have done a very good job in the smooth running of the tourist season and the influx that both border points covered by this directorate, both Muriqani and Hani i Hoti, have had. There was an influx like never before. I am glad for the coordination with the border police of the Republic of Montenegro under the direction of the Bosnian director. Even I myself, either with Prime Minister Abazovic or with Interior Minister Adzic, have had contacts where there was a need to intervene, to switch to an easier regime. And I want to tell you that the season is not over yet, so the work continues”.
Balla also emphasized that it is very important to increase the readiness to identify any form of border crime and to pay maximum attention.
“This is an important point, it not only connects Albania with Montenegro, but it is part of the “Blue Corridor” and naturally a large number of European citizens, who depart from the north of Europe, choose to pass through this point as well , to come to Albania or to continue down. So I want to congratulate you on your work and increase your readiness to detect any form of border crime. I start here from some data that I received today to see some different natures of criminal offenses that have been continuously recorded at this border crossing point. You must continue to have better results”, said Balla.
