Sirens sounded early Sunday morning for a Russian airstrike in Kiev, Ukraine.
Kyiv’s military command reported that cruise missiles were fired from a Tu-95 strategic bomber.
The attack took place on the outskirts of the capital, said General Serhiy Popko, who asked residents to stay in shelters until the alert is lifted.
The Reuters news agency cited reports of explosions heard earlier in the area.
So far there are no reports of casualties.
