Candidates for the presidency of the Algerian Football Federation began to go to the headquarters of the “Al FAF”, in Algiers, today, Sunday, in order to deposit their candidacy files.
The former Algerian international, Meziane Aguile, was the first to move to the “Al-Faf” headquarters, and to deposit his candidacy file with the Nominations Committee.
A short while later, the former director of Al-Faf, Walid Sadi, arrived at the Dali Brahim building in order to file his candidacy to succeed the resigned Jahid Zvizif.
The President of the Professional Football League, Abdel Karim Medawar, was the last to arrive, and he submitted his candidacy file before the deadline expired this evening.
According to the electoral process calendar, which was published by Al-Faf on its website, the last date for filing candidacy files is the current August 27, after which the files will be studied on the 28th and 29th of the same month, before the preliminary list of candidates is published on August 30, 2023.
According to the same source, the period for filing appeals was set from August 31 to September 4, which will be studied on September 5 and 6, before the final list of candidates is announced on September 7, 2023.
Finally, the new president of the FAF will be introduced on September 21, during an electoral general assembly.
