The Executive Director of the Union of African Scholars revealed that Algerian-led efforts to end the crisis in Niger will lead to curbing the alleged military intervention, public television reported.
The same speaker stressed that the Algerian position on the Nigerian crisis is neutral, balanced and comprehensive, and that Algeria has sought from the beginning to resolve the crisis in a diplomatic manner, ruling out the option of violence and bloodshed.
He added that Algeria’s position on the Nigerien crisis is honorable and will enable it to find a peaceful solution by joining its efforts with the previous mediators, as Algeria’s efforts are represented in the diplomatic consultations conducted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, which may avert Niger and the entire region from the scourge of war.
