The death toll from the Turkey earthquake rose to 49,589 people, including 6,807 foreigners, according to an official statement.
Turkish Vice President Fuad Oktay said, in a press conference today, Saturday, that his country continues to do its best to face the consequences of the earthquake, according to the Anatolia news agency.
Oktay added from the capital, Ankara, that all ministries and governmental and private institutions are doing their best to address the problems in the earthquake areas.
In this context, he confirmed the deaths of 49,589 people, including 6,807 foreigners, in the earthquake.
On February 6, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, killing tens of thousands of people and leaving huge material damage.
