This year’s Eid fashion did not have any traditional competition like other times. Instead, top eight fashion designers of Chittagong have been honored. They are HM Elias, Ivy Hasan, Sultan Nurjahan Rozi, Qazi Shahtaz Parveen, Nasreen Sarwar, Nujhat Nueri, Farzana Malik and Jannatul Ferdous. Most of them emerged from the Prothom Alo Eid fashion competition. The reputation of their designed clothes is now at home and abroad. During the event, the professional achievements and work descriptions of these designers were presented to the audience.
The designers have brought out the Bengali heritage in the clothes, while at the same time there was a touch of modernity and western touch. As there were sarees, salwar-kameez, lehengas, gowns, so were Punjabis, fatuas, blazers for boys.
