Air Vice Marshal M Mofidur Rahman said in a press conference that the first phase of the third terminal will be completed by April 2024. Claiming that about 700 crore rupees have been saved in the first phase of work, he said that they are not returning this money. In this sense more work will be done with new facilities for the terminal. For this, tenders will be invited for the second phase after the completion of the first phase. After all, it will take time to complete the entire work on the terminal by the end of 2024.
In response to the question of how he is handling the pressure of the airport being closed for five hours at night, M Mofidur Rahman said that due to fog in winter, the flight schedule is made in such a way that the number of flights is less during that time (from 2 pm to 7 am).
As a result, there is no problem if the flight is stopped for five hours. He also said that additional manpower is working for airport management. Babychak chairman also said, ‘We are trying so that the passengers do not have any problems.’
