Books – Mahmoud Saeed:
The Cairo Criminal Court, sitting in Abbasiya, headed by Counselor Wafik Makkawi, referred the accused of killing his mother-in-law with the help of her daughter (the first wife) to the Honorable Mufti, to take a legal opinion on his execution.
The court sentenced the victim’s daughter to one year in prison for concealing a dead body.
Prosecution investigations in Case No. 22 in West Cairo revealed that the defendant, Hamdi T., 22 years old, deliberately killed the victim, S.M., with premeditation that he had the intention and determination to take her life due to differences between them.
Investigations indicated that the accused killed the victim because he was distressed by the expenses of her residence in his house, and on the day of the incident, he attacked her while she was sleeping and clamped her neck until she breathed her last in his hands.
The investigations stated that “Mona A.”, 18 years old, the second defendant, “the wife of the accused and the daughter of the victim,” helped him hide the body by throwing it in the garbage and smearing her face with scalding water.
The accused confessed before authorities to committing his crime, saying: “He was sitting in my house by spending months on groceries…and I decided to finish them.”
In the referral order, the prosecution charged the accused with premeditated murder and possession of cannabis, and charged the wife with concealing a body after she denied knowing he had committed the murder.
