Last Thursday, most of the opposition parties united and agreed to demand a discussion in Parliament and an impartial investigation. The Opposition also united in a meeting called by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharg, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. The same thing happened again on Friday. The opposition brought Parliament to a standstill. The meeting became bogus when the heads of the meeting rejected the notices of different parties demanding discussion.
According to the opposition, Congress-era Bofors (1987), Harshad Mehta share scam (1992), Ketan Parekh share scam (2001), soft drink pesticide scam (2003), 2G scam (2011), VVIP helicopter scam (2013) A Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was formed to investigate. But during the BJP period, none of the demands including Rafale, Pegasus, Chinese attack on Ladakh were taken into consideration. The opposition is also saying that the then opposition party BJP was the most vocal in demanding the formation of JPC in two cases of manipulation in the stock market (Harshad Mehta and Ketan Parekh). Today they are silent. Because, if the investigation is done, Narendra Modi’s hand behind the rise of Adani will become clear.
