Ibrahim Pradhan told Prothom Alo that Saidul was married to Ankhi in the family 15 years ago. They have two sons aged 12 and 10 and a daughter aged four and four months. However, since the marriage, Saidul used to beat Ankhi on various small issues. Last night, Saidul and Ankhi got into an argument due to a family dispute. Ibrahim claimed that at one stage of the argument, Saidul got angry and tied Ankhi’s hands and feet and started beating him on the head and body with a hammer. Ankhi was seriously injured.
At one point neighbors came forward when Ankhi’s children screamed after seeing him beaten. At this time, Saidul managed to escape. Later, the neighbors rescued Ankhi in an injured state and took him to the Upazila Health Complex.
