Moscow – AA
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed today, Thursday, that the West was the one who rejected the talks and persuaded the Ukrainian regime not to participate in the negotiations, while there was a possibility to resolve the crisis politically last April, pointing out that Russia realizes that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is not an independent figure, but rather pressure is being exerted. It is a reflection of the interests of the West.
Lavrov said, in a press interview, according to what was reported by the “Russia Today” news channel, that with every step the West takes, it is drowning in the quagmire of its anger. Whenever long-range weapons are supplied to Ukraine, Russia must keep them away from its territory.
He added that the presidents of the United States since the era of Barack Obama and Trump and then Joe Biden, as well as officials, always talk about American exceptionalism, considering the United States a country like no other in the world, calling on the people to preserve their exceptionalism and their leaders, because if the United States did not exist, chaos would prevail in the world.
Lavrov explained that this matter is very dangerous because exceptionalism means that we cannot allow a focus on ethnic and historical identity, but rather we have to spread everywhere the new free democracy, and the United States, with this approach, seeks to prevent any country from preserving and defending its history, pointing to that confidence. Blindness to exceptionalism is the main reason for what we resist through the Kyiv regime, which is waging a hybrid war against Russia.
He explained that during Zelensky’s era, laws were enacted in Ukraine to prevent the use of the Russian language, ban the Russian-speaking media, and imposed penalties on those who use it, pointing out that the four regions that entered the Russian entity came after the referendum.
