The head of the Independent Higher Authority for Tunisian Elections, Farouk Bouaskar, confirmed that the electoral process in the second round of elections for the members of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People took place smoothly in all constituencies, describing it as taking place in good conditions.
“Farouk Bouaskar” added during a press conference held this evening “Sunday” after the closing of the polling stations – that all polling stations had closed their doors at exactly six in the evening, Tunis time, in all constituencies, and had begun to receive voters and opened their doors at exactly eight in the morning.
He pointed out that the turnout for voting reached 11.3% until the closing of the polling stations, and the announcement of the preliminary results of the second round of the legislative elections will be on the first of next February.
He added that the polling took place in 131 constituencies inside Tunisia, and 262 candidates competed in it, including 34 women, expressing thanks and gratitude to the Presidency of the Government and all parties for their support for the holding of the second round of elections for members of the Tunisian People’s Assembly, noting that the Independent High Authority for Tunisian Elections It allocated 4222 polling stations.
