Amman/Algeria – (AHA):
Jordanian Parliament Speaker Ahmed Safadi and Algerian National Assembly Speaker Saleh Goujil affirmed that Jordan and Algeria, led by King Abdullah II and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, coincide in solid and steadfast positions in defense of Jerusalem, the Palestinian cause, and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, indicating that both peoples have advanced Convoys of martyrs defending Palestine and continuing with its people until they achieve their legitimate rights on their national soil.
Al-Safadi and Gogel stressed the importance and role of the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as it formed a main line of defense with the steadfast Almoravids in Jerusalem, in the face of attempts to Judaize the Holy City.
This came in the statements of the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament after his meeting with the Speaker of the Algerian National Assembly on the sidelines of the seventeenth session of the Conference of the Union of Parliaments of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which kicked off today, Sunday, in the Algerian capital.
Al-Safadi said that the conversation with Goujil focused on unifying parliamentary positions in support of the Palestinian brothers, pointing out that the Jordanian parliamentary delegation sensed great appreciation from various Algerian officials for King Abdullah II and Jordan, and they expressed their aspirations for more joint agreements in service of the two brotherly peoples.
Al-Safadi added, “We salute Algeria, which sacrificed one and a half million martyrs until it gained its freedom, and salutes to every Algerian woman who gave birth to a martyr, and to every Algerian who raised a martyr. This pure blood was the price of obtaining freedom, so that the Algerian people could enjoy independence, their resources and their right to their land to protect their people and the future of their generations.” .
In turn, Goujil affirmed his country’s appreciation and love for Jordan and King Abdullah II, stressing that Jordan has unforgettable positions in supporting the Algerian people at times when the country suffered, and these positions are engraved in memory and are not strange to the authentic Jordanian people.
He stressed the importance of the outcomes of the summit of King Abdullah II and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, stressing at the same time the importance of the reconciliation file between the Palestinian factions, which his country hosted last October.
