Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, affirmed the attention that the President of the Republic attaches to the development process in Matrouh Governorate, indicating that the governorate is witnessing a large development boom in all fields and sectors and a large number of national projects, especially the infrastructure, which will contribute to providing job opportunities for the people of the governorate.
The Minister of Local Development praised the efforts of Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh, in improving the level of services provided to the citizens of the governorate, following up the implementation of the ongoing national projects on the land of Matrouh, and following up the citizens’ demands to provide them with more services and a decent life for them.
This came in the speech of the Minister of Local Development, in the presence of the executive and popular leaders in Matrouh.
Major General Hisham Amna stressed the importance of the role played by the mayors and sheikhs of Matruh in supporting the state’s ongoing efforts on the land of the governorate in all fields, praising the cooperation of the members of the Senate and the House of Representatives with the executive agencies in the governorate in implementing the presidential directives in various important files.
For his part, Major General Khaled Shoaib, Governor of Matrouh, welcomed the visit of Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, and his accompanying delegation to Matrouh Governorate, which is an embodiment of the constant and continuous keenness and interest of the political leadership in every part of the homeland.
Major General Khaled Shoaib said that Matrouh Governorate is the second largest governorate in the Republic with an area of 166,000 km2 and represents Egypt’s western gate. Therefore, its strategic and developmental importance comes with its abundance of development capabilities and resources. It was a source of interest for the political leadership to witness many major national projects such as the new city of El Alamein, the nuclear project. Al-Salami for power generation in Dabaa, the axis of Rawd Al-Faraj Al-Dabaa, seawater desalination plants, which we consider (Nile of Egypt in Matrouh) the new delta project and the agricultural future of Egypt, the sea port in the city of Al-Nujaila, the development of the land port of Salloum, the development and duplication of the Matrouh-Siwa road, the construction of a new concrete road, development and expansion Alexandria Matrouh Road and the Sokhna / El Alamein / Marsa Matrouh express train, and the development of Salloum Hospital and Barani Hospital.
The Governor of Matrouh referred to Republican Decree 361 of 2020 transferring the mandate of 707 thousand feddans to the New Urban Communities Authority, which allows the establishment of more new cities and communities, such as the new Ras al-Hikma and other major national projects that Matrouh has enjoyed and is witnessed in all parts of the country for the good and public benefit and the provision of more Job opportunities for the people of Matrouh and the Delta, referring to the development efforts that are taking place within the governorate in order to make the best use of its resources and work to achieve the comprehensive and desired development for the people of Matrouh, in implementation of the mandates of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to pay attention to building the Egyptian person..and confirming the priority of development steps towards improving the life of the citizen. And provide him with a more decent life.. Believing that development is the way to achieve security and stability, with the importance of achieving integration and balance between its various fields to serve society and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development with participation among all organs of society.
The Governor of Matrouh also reviewed during his speech a presentation that includes the most important development efforts in Matrouh Governorate during the past three years, which were carried out with concerted efforts and work with determination, persistence and a spirit of one team among all executive agencies and in cooperation with all parties, thanking the Ministry of Local Development for the permanent and continuous support to achieve the comprehensive and desired development. To serve the people of the governorate under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
The Governor of Matrouh also reviewed the governorate’s efforts to finish a number of development and service projects currently underway, as well as a number of the governorate’s demands to provide more services and a decent life for citizens.
Major General Khaled Shuaib also presented a number of demands to the people of the province in some sectors, in addition to requesting the support of the Ministry of Local Development in a number of files, especially the solid waste system.
