Students of Fazilatunnecha Hall protested for four points including seat allocation in a newly constructed student hall in Jahangirnagar University. After the procession, they took a stand in front of the Vice Chancellor’s residence at midnight on Friday. Later, the students returned to the hall after about four hours with the assurance of the vice-chancellor.
In view of this, seats have been allotted in the newly constructed student hall through lottery on Saturday morning. Since then, the students have started to rise in the new hall.
The demands of the students were to hold a lottery within the night for the allotment of seats in the newly constructed hall 18 for female students, to ensure the allotment of seats by today Saturday, to take steps to ensure that there is no political bloc in the hall and to name the newly constructed hall Fazilatunnecha Hall.
It should be noted that Fazilatunnecha Hall was declared abandoned long ago. As there was no alternative arrangement, the students were forced to stay in this hall.
