Jordan’s King Abdullah II stressed the need to intensify efforts to revive the chances of achieving peace on the basis of the two-state solution, and the need to stop all illegal Israeli measures that undermine this solution.
This came during a meeting between King Abdullah II and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, today, Wednesday, in Doha, to discuss the historical brotherly relations that unite the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting focused on opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and investment fields, in a way that achieves the interests of the two countries.
His Majesty the King and the Emir of the State of Qatar affirmed the continuation of coordination and consultation between the two countries on issues of common concern, in a way that serves Arab issues and enhances regional stability and cooperation.
The meeting touched on regional and international developments, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, according to the Royal Court statement.
The meeting was attended by Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi, Director of the King’s Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Director of General Intelligence Major General Ahmed Hosni, and Jordanian Ambassador to Qatar Zaid Al-Lawzi.
On the Qatari side, it was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and a number of senior officials.
Upon his arrival at Doha International Airport, King Abdullah II was received by the Emir of the State of Qatar and a number of senior officials, the Jordanian ambassador in Doha and the staff of the embassy.
