On Monday and Tuesday, Sarail Sadar, Kalikachch, Noagaon, Chunta Union and Ashuganj Sadar, Durgapur, Talshahr Paschim, Araisidha Union, there was no activity of the candidates in the by-elections. However, some electoral activities in favor of Sattar can be seen in Aruail and Pakshimul Union of Sarail, being their own area. However, the candidates’ banners, festoons, leaflets were not very visible. There was no miking in Saraile for the candidates. However, miking is being done on behalf of the candidates in Ashuganj. Except for Zaker’s party candidate, there is more miking in favor of the other three candidates.
Former president of Upazila Zia Manch and former member of Upazila BNP (recently expelled) M Kamal Haque, who is known to be close to Sattar Bhuiyan, told Prothom Alo on Wednesday that they will vigorously campaign for Sattar on Thursday.
A few people close to Sattar said on condition of anonymity that the government will make Sattar the winner no matter what. That is why Sattar’s family is not spending money. For this reason, they are not campaigning in the elections.
