Dakahlia-Rami Mahmoud:
A Tunisian national drowned and his accompanying driver was injured when the car they were traveling in fell into a canal in Dakahlia.
Major General Marwan Habib, Director of Dakahlia Security, had received a notification from Major General Mohamed Abdel Hadi, Director of Criminal Investigations, stating that a report had been received by the Rescue Police Department that an angel car had fallen in a canal near the village of Nusa Al-Bahr on the (Mansoura-Aga) road in the area of the Aga Center.
Police forces, river rescue forces, and ambulances moved to the place of the report, and it was found that the tuk-tuk driver managed to rescue one of the people, while the driver remained.
One of the eyewitnesses confirmed that the car was moving quickly and the steering wheel was imbalanced in the driver’s hands as a result of the heavy waterlogging, and he fell into the waters of the canal.
The river rescue forces were able to recover the body of the drowned person, Hammadi Belrais, a 24-year-old Tunisian, a student in the fourth year at the Faculty of Law, Mansoura University. His body was transferred to the morgue of Mansoura International Hospital, and the injured person, Ziyad, was transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
The necessary report of the incident was issued and a winch was called to extract the car from the canal and open traffic for pedestrians.
