Kiev – AA
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday expressed his sincere gratitude to Germany for agreeing to send Leopard 2 tanks to his country.
Zelensky added – in a tweet on Twitter – that German Chancellor Olaf Schultz informed him of the news in a phone call, during which he also told him of expanding the scope of defense support and training missions and the possibility of partners sending similar weapons.
Germany announced today its approval to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, a decision that the German chancellor said follows lengthy and intensive consultations with allies.
On the ground, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the frigate “Admiral Gorshkov” had successfully tested the hypersonic “Zircon” missile in the western part of the Atlantic Ocean.
And the Russian defense stated – in a statement – that the missile hit a sea target more than 900 km away from the ship, using computer simulations.
The frigate had earlier conducted maneuvers to repel a hypothetical attack from the sky in the Norwegian Sea, and the frigate is scheduled to participate in joint exercises for the Chinese and South African navies near the coast of Africa next month.
