Books – Muhammad Shaker:
Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, met with Ahmed bin Rakad Al-Amiri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, to discuss strengthening cooperation frameworks between the two sides in the fields of publishing, cultural exchange and book fairs.
This came as part of the meetings held by the Minister of Culture, on the sidelines of the launch of the 54th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which is being held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly this morning, Wednesday, at the Egypt Exhibition and Convention Center in the Fifth Settlement.
The Minister of Culture praised the size of the Emirati participation in the exhibition, which reflects the strength of relations between the two countries at all levels.
She stressed that the cultural cooperation between Egypt and the UAE continues throughout the year through the exchange of experiences between the two sides and the distinguished participation in the cultural, artistic and creative events that are implemented in Egypt and the Emirates, praising what was done with the Historical Dictionary project, which is a unique Arab achievement under the auspices of the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi.
For his part, Ahmed bin Rakad Al-Amiri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, conveyed a message of love from Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, during which he expressed his great pride and appreciation for the Egyptian state as president, government and people, and his congratulations to the Minister of Culture for the opening of the Cairo International Book Fair in its edition. The 54th, stressing the cultural importance the exhibition represents on the Arab and international levels as one of the largest book fairs in the world.
Al-Amiri suggested cooperation with the Egyptian General Book Authority in organizing a number of foreign book fairs at reduced prices in Egypt. He also invited Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani to participate in the Sharjah Children’s Reading Exhibition in its next session.
Dr. Ahmed Bahey El Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Authority, expressed readiness with the Sharjah Book Authority for many projects that would support the book industry in the two countries, stressing the Egyptian Authority’s keenness to participate in all the activities organized by the Sharjah Book Authority in a manner that befits the Egyptian culture and civilization. .
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority gave the Minister of Culture a copy of the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language, and a copy of the historical novel “The Bold”, written by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Mary Betty”, and how this lady was able to accompany the French ambassador to Persia, to claim her debt that she lent him, and how this bold rescued the mission, and what happened to her upon her return to France, and how she was tried.
