Libya – (AA)
The British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, called for expanding the scope of the current talks between the House of Representatives and the High Council of State by including many political parties in them. To ensure its success, with a focus on overcoming political and legal obstacles.
“I would like to see real action that shows that they are ready to put Libya’s interests first,” Horndall said – according to the Libyan Al-Wasat TV, explaining that UN envoy Abdullah Batili, during the celebration of Libya’s Independence Day, similarly called on them to prioritize the needs of the country.
“I also want to take a positive approach, which is to encourage all individuals and groups to see that they all have something to gain by engaging peacefully in a process of political dialogue, through my conversations with Libyans of all ages and backgrounds across the country… I think it’s clear,” she added. That’s what they want to see.”
