Sources told Masrawy that the ministry will start applying the experiment initially through a number of bakeries to try it and find out its flaws until it is modified in the final application expected in mid-February, adding that meetings took place between ministry officials, the bakeries division and postal officials to find out the mechanisms of the experiment and the shape of the cards, as well. Meetings are held to determine the value of the loaf.
The sources indicated that the categories of recharge cards include a bread card of 20 pounds, which allows a citizen to obtain 25 loaves, a bread card of 50 pounds, which allows a citizen to obtain 62 loaves, and a bread card of 100 pounds, which allows a citizen to obtain 124 loaves, and thus the price of a loaf of bread with a bread card is about 80. a penny.
The sources pointed out that buying a bread card at a cost of 30 pounds from the Egyptian Post is one time, then it is shipped at the value you want, and you go to any bakery to exchange bread from bakeries, which amount to about 30,000 bakeries nationwide.
The new bread card is characterized by the ability to charge it at any value, and to issue any number of loaves of bread through it without a ration card, which is expected to be implemented in early February, according to what was stated by the Ministry of Supply.
