On Wednesday evening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the return of 5 Egyptian citizens out of a total of 14 citizens who were exposed to the fire accident that the ship “BEATA ALFA” was exposed to off the Turkish coast, after the embassy completed travel procedures and issued the necessary documents and made sure that their health condition allowed them to travel. This is within the framework of the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented by the consular sector and both the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul to follow up on the incident.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that efforts are still underway in response to the directives of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, to follow up the health status of the remaining citizens who were victims of the accident until they all return to the homeland.
The embassy continues its best efforts through successive contacts with the concerned Turkish authorities to ensure the provision of the best treatment service for the injured, as well as to find out the reasons for the accident and obtain the results of the investigations in this regard, and to provide legal assistance to the injured, including working to obtain their insurance dues and the necessary financial compensation.
