Two years ago, the Fortnite it was pulled from the App Store and Google Play and despite the fact that those who already had it installed on their device could continue to play, they did not have access to new updates and additional content. The situation is set to get even worse as Epic Games has announced new restrictions that will affect those playing the game on mobile devices and Macs. More specifically, from January 30, 2023 onwards, those using the 13.40 app build will not be able to spend V-Bucks, while the game’s age rating was changed to 18+. Epic Games explained that the changes are aimed at protecting young players. “We want all versions of our games to use the existing suite of Epic Online Services, which includes parental control options, purchasing rules, and adult certification tools. Update the app cannot be updated on these platforms due to of the restrictions imposed by Apple and Google”.
We want all versions of our games to use the current suite of Epic Online Services including parental controls, purchasing defaults, and parental verification features. We are not able to update the app on these platforms given Apple and Google’s restrictions on Fortnite. (2/2)
