Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gramm announced today, Wednesday, that his country will supply Ukraine with tanks.
The Norwegian channel (NRK) quoted Minister Gramm as saying, “Tanks are now very much needed. Norway and its government support the delivery of tanks to Ukraine. Norway should participate in that,” according to the Russian Tass agency.
The minister did not specify the number of tanks that Norway will provide to Ukraine.
Regarding the type of tanks that will be provided to the Ukrainian forces, Gramm said, “There are different options. We have Leopard 4 tanks.”
He added that Norway would support the Ukrainian forces with training and financing.
This comes after the German government announced that it would allow countries that own German-made tanks to hand them over to Ukraine. Germany will also provide 14 tanks of the type “Leopard 2” to Kiev.
US President Joe Biden announced this evening, Wednesday, his country’s intention to provide 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
