Tunisia – (AA):
Tunisia condemned the burning of copies of the Holy Quran by Swedish extremists in Sweden, in a flagrant provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world.
Tunisia affirmed – in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this evening / Monday / – that this heinous act is not related in any way to freedom of expression, but rather an assault on the common universal principles and values of human rights and an incitement to violence, hatred and contempt for religions.
Tunisia warned of the seriousness of these rejected and condemned practices, calling for the necessity of concerted efforts to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence between religions and respect for the sanctities of peoples and divine books.
