In the discussion, the speakers said that if there is good coordination within the country, there will be good results in diplomacy. Therefore coordination should be emphasized in any initiative and action. In the changing global system, countries are having a difficult time in formulating foreign policies with their neighbours. So Bangladesh has to proceed with caution.
BIS organized the seminar titled ‘Strengthening Bangladesh’s foreign relations with its neighbors in the changing global context’.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in the seminar. Shahriar Alam said that in the current context, the global situation is changing faster than expected. So it is important to be careful in advancing the relationship to adapt to the changing times. However, Bangladesh will never compromise with the basic ideals of foreign policy in relations with certain countries and regions, including neighboring countries. In line with the principle of ‘friendship with all, enmity with none’, Bangladesh continues to strive to strengthen relations with its neighbors for the purpose of regional stability, prosperity and development.
