The security services at the Ministry of Interior arrested the accused of running a studio to prepare artistic content for satellite channels “without a license” in Giza.
Information and investigations of the General Department of Works Investigations and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Specialized Police Sector reported that (a person established and managed a studio “without a license” – located in the 6th of October Police Department in Giza), to prepare the artistic content for a group of unlicensed satellite channels, and his participation with ( Others) in the management of the studio, using computers that act as montage units, on which computer programs and applications are loaded that are imitated, copied and attributed to several companies without obtaining permission from the owners of material and moral rights, as well as audiovisual works recorded in the aforementioned studio.
After codifying the procedures in coordination with the National Security and Public Security Sectors and the Giza Security Directorate, the aforementioned studio was targeted, and the aforementioned suspects were seized. By searching the studio’s components, a laptop equipped with a “hard disk” was seized to store unauthorized content – 3 mobile phones used to manage Channels and communication with advertisers, one of whom is loaded with an “e-wallet” containing an amount of money, as well as seizing a sum of money from the proceeds of illegal activity).
Confronting the defendants, they admitted that they had committed violations with the intent of achieving financial profit.
Legal action has been taken.
This comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Ministry of the Interior to combat crime in all its forms, especially crimes of infringement of intellectual property rights.
