Books – Muhammad Shaker:
Dr. Ahmed Bahey El Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Organization, received today, Monday, Murad Gatin, Director of Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, and Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities.
According to the Russian Center’s statement, Russia’s participation in the Cairo International Book Fair in its 54th session, which will start from January 25 to February 6, was discussed under the slogan “In the name of Egypt… Together we read, we think, we create.” Salah Jahin was chosen as the exhibition’s personality, and Kamel Kilani is the personality of the Child Exhibition, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will be the guest of honor.
Bahey El-Din welcomed the Russian participation in the book fair, stressing the keenness of both sides to participate in the Cairo Fair and the Moscow International Book Fair.
Murad Gatin referred to Russia’s participation this year with a distinguished delegation of writers and poets, in addition to the activities of the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo on February 3 and 4 on the latest publications in Russian literature, some of which deal with Egypt and the Arab region, according to the Russian side’s statement.
The Russian delegation of writers and poets includes Dmitry Streshnev, Anna Matveyeva, Aliya Karimova, and Maxim Amelin.
