The three convicts are Montu Pramanik, Saheb Molla and Naujes Pramanik of Dighi Gohail Bari area of Chartarapur Union of Pabna district headquarters. They were present in the court when the verdict was announced. Later they were sent to jail.

Because of this, on the morning of March 16, 2008, the two sides clashed. Mahatab Uddin was injured in the clash. He was admitted to Pabna General Hospital with serious injuries and died while undergoing treatment. Abu Bakr Siddiqui, the nephew of Mahatab, who was killed in this incident, filed a murder case naming 12 people and accusing 15 to 20 others as defendants. After investigating the case, the police filed a charge sheet against 12 people in the court. After a long hearing and testimony in the case, the court sentenced three to life imprisonment and acquitted nine.
