Ukrainian forces said that the Russian army shelled the border areas of the Sumy region with mortars for the third time today, Saturday.
“From 16:50 to 17:35, 20 strikes were recorded, possibly from a 120 mm mortar launcher, in the Doroshevka neighborhood,” the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform quoted the Northern Operations Command as saying via Telegram.
According to data from the Northern Command, there were no casualties among military personnel or damage to equipment. No information was received about casualties among the local population or damage to civilian infrastructure.
It indicated that from 12:50 to 13:10 on Saturday, 10 mortar shells were fired at the Studenok neighborhood in the Sumy region, and from 11:10 to 11:25, six strikes were recorded, presumably from mortar shells. 120 mm, in the Bachevsk district of the Sumy region.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had conducted exercises in Moscow on the use of the “S-300” air defense system to repel any possible air attacks on Russian military and administrative facilities.
Today, the Russian defense indicated that more than 150 soldiers and 30 units of military equipment participated in the exercises in Moscow.
And Russian media reported – earlier – that the crews of strategic submarines of the Russian Northern Naval Fleet will pay special attention to conducting several training maneuvers under the ice during the year 2023.
Last year, the Russian Navy successfully conducted tests of its nuclear submarines in the Pacific Ocean under the ice.
