Three of Bangladesh’s four international masters are out of the table. Zillur Rahman moved to the United States in 1995. He underwent heart surgery a few years ago. He has lost his relationship with chess. Abu Sufian Shakeel and Minhaj Uddin are not that active. Sufyan 2011 and Minhaj 2012 international masters but they have not yet achieved any GM norms. Minhaj is 33, Sufian is 42.
Sufian has already given up on his dream of becoming a grandmaster, ‘I am more busy with organizational work now. Since 2006, I have been working as a chess coach of the National Sports Council. Coaching chess by traveling to different districts. I am also the president of Chess Players Association. To be honest, I don’t have any dreams of becoming a grandmaster.’
