Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, revealed the details of postponing the implementation of projects that include a dollar component; Whether for the Ministry of Transport, or other ministries.
The minister said, during an exclusive interview with the journalist Ahmed Moussa, presenter of the program “On My Responsibility”, broadcast on “Sada Al-Balad” channel, today, Sunday, that all new projects that include a dollar component and are not included in the new budget are the ones that will stop, while Projects that have a local component, which is (the Egyptian pound), will continue to be implemented and will not be postponed, even for one day.
The Minister of Transport added, this evening, Sunday, that the projects implemented by the state are all important and required. In addition, it provides many job opportunities for citizens. Rather, the projects that were included in the 2022-2023 budget and which have a dollar component will be re-examined again, and not cancelled. If we are able to provide the dollar component for these projects, they will be completed.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Transport was not affected by anything; On projects that need a dollar component, work will continue on them, and on projects that have a dollar component, and that are funded by international banks; The decision of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to suspend its work does not apply to it. It will go on as it is, too, without stopping.
