Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, made a surprise visit to the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibition in the land of mills in Faisal, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr.
The governor confirmed in a statement today, Sunday, that the exhibition includes basic commodities that the citizen needs at competitive prices, as well as outlets for selling rice, meat, poultry, vegetables and fruits belonging to the National Service Projects Agency of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Governor of Giza indicated that 25 outlets have been established at the level of Giza Governorate, and this comes in implementation of the mandates of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with the aim of providing goods to citizens at low prices, through “Welcome Ramadan” exhibitions and other mobile outlets.
He noted that the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibition in Faisal witnessed a heavy turnout by citizens throughout the day, due to the availability of food commodities and products at reduced prices.
During his tour, Major General Ahmed Rashid was keen to dialogue with citizens to ensure their satisfaction with the prices in exhibitions and commercial chains and not to exaggerate them, stressing the exhibiting companies of the need to adhere to the declared prices.
The Governor of Giza also directed the need to expand the establishment of a number of additional outlets necessary, especially in densely populated areas, to provide commodities and food products at reduced prices in response to citizens’ demands.
The tour of the Governor of Giza included an inspection of the municipal bakeries, the “Ahlan Ramadan” exhibitions, and a number of commercial chains in the centers and cities of Abu Al-Nomros and Al-Hawamdia, in order to ensure that bakery owners do not tamper with weights and provide citizens with a loaf of bread in all bakeries that conform to the specifications.
And the governor of Giza stressed the heads of neighborhoods, centers and cities, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, and expanding the establishment of more commodity outlets and cadres, each within its scope, and allocating large areas to display all food and basic products and meat in large quantities at reduced prices to make them available to citizens.
Rashed emphasized the provision of all facilities to the exhibiting merchants to sell their products in the outlets, and that they would not bear any rental or financial burdens to contribute to providing commodities at reduced prices to citizens.
The Governor of Giza, Director of the Supply Directorate, has also intensified control over bakeries to control subsidy manipulators, and emphasized the commitment of bakeries to produce the local loaf of bread in accordance with the specified specifications.
Governor Ibrahim Al-Shihabi, Deputy Governor, Mohamed Nour, Assistant General Secretary, Mr. Essam Hilal, Member of Parliament, Ayman Atris, Head of the Inspection and Follow-up Authority, and the heads of the neighborhoods and centers of Al-Haram, Abu Al-Nomros and Al-Hawamdia.
