According to prison authority sources, there was a case against Shukur Ali in Kushtia’s Daulatpur police station under the Prevention of Women and Children Torture Act. In that case, she was sentenced to death by the Kushtia Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal. He was brought to Kashimpur High Security Central Jail on August 16, 2018. On December 19, Shukur Ali appealed to the President for mercy. But the President rejected the plea of the accused. After all the legal procedures, the execution was carried out at 10:01 pm on Sunday as per the jail code.
Senior Jail Superintendent Subrata Kumar Bala confirmed this information. He told Prothom Alo that the body has been handed over to the family after the legal process.
