In the opening ceremony, Barisal Vice-Chancellor Chadekul Arefin said that those who practice science, get the knowledge to discover the world in a different way. Superstition cannot touch them. They learn to think freely, try to prove everything with intelligence and logic. For this, the new generation should move towards science. By removing the fear of science, the country and the society should advance by enjoying science.
Pointing out that such a festival will help to remove the fear of science, Chadekul Arefin said, ‘The future world is the world of the fourth industrial revolution. For this we have to prepare ourselves to face the challenges of this revolution. There is no alternative to create a science-minded generation to face this challenge.’
In the opening ceremony, development officer Humayun Kabir said, ‘A survey showed that 80 percent of students up to class VIII want to go into science. But then they changed tracks. This is a terrible downside for us. Because the world is moving forward, science is moving forward, we should not be left behind. We also have to move forward.
