Abu Dhabi – (dpa)
Today, Saturday, the UAE strongly condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in Sweden, in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Stockholm.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed the UAE’s permanent rejection of all practices aimed at undermining security and stability that are inconsistent with human and moral values and principles, according to the UAE news agency (WAM).
The ministry renewed its permanent call to reject hate speech and violence, the necessity of respecting religious symbols, and refraining from provoking hatred by insulting religions and sanctities, and the need to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence.
This condemnation comes in the wake of Rasmus Paludan, leader of the far-right “hard line” party in Denmark, giving permission to burn a copy of the Noble Qur’an today, Saturday, in front of the Turkish embassy in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.
