Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin and Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanhui held telephone talks today, Friday, to discuss Russian-Chinese cooperation within the framework of the United Nations.
The two sides reaffirmed, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, on Friday that the two countries share the same approaches to major international issues.
The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation within the United Nations platform, including the Security Council and the General Assembly, and it was emphasized that Moscow and Beijing take the same approach with regard to major issues on the international agenda, which is fully in line with the spirit of comprehensive and strategic partnership relations between Russia and China.
They also expressed their common desire to continue bilateral cooperation “to build a just, multipolar world order based on universally accepted international legal standards and the pivotal and coordinating role of the United Nations,” according to the statement.
It is noteworthy that the Chinese ambassador to Russia confirmed, earlier, that Moscow and Beijing have a strong partnership, noting that they are the most reliable strategic partners for each other.
